A glance at some of the numbers coming out of Game 4 between the Maple Leafs and Bruins, won 3-1 by Boston.

What has to be maddening for the Maple Leafs is that they’re down two games in the series and are facing elimination in Game 5 on Tuesday, but they haven’t been run out of the building.

When the teams have been at 5-on-5 throughout the series, the Bruins haven’t been getting an abundance of grade-A scoring chances. Boston is fine with grinding it out and taking advantage when they do get their opportunities. The Leafs are having issues in that regard and when it comes down to it, the Bruins’ goaltending has been more sharp than what the Leafs have been getting.

Boston held a slight margin over Toronto in Game 4 in high-danger chances, getting seven to the Leafs’ six.

So it went on Saturday, when the Leafs’ mistakes found their way into the net. In the first period, it was a Ryan Reaves turnover that resulted in a goal by James van Riemsdyk. In the final minute of the second, Brad Marchand poked a loose puck past TJ Brodie before setting up David Pastrnak for what wound up being the insurance goal.
