Jennifer Prenner, a former marketing leader at Amazon and Meta, joined EV giant Rivian as its new vice president of marketing and CMO.
Prenner, based in Seattle, most recently was a vice president at Meta working with its Reality Labs business before taking a year-long sabbatical. She was previously head of marketing for Fire TV at Amazon, and spent more than eight years at Verizon.
“I’m so excited by the mission, the opportunity ahead and all of the amazing people I’ve already met,” Prenner said in a LinkedIn post.
Founded in 2009 and based in Irvine, Calif., Rivian raised billions in private funding from companies such as Amazon and Ford before going public in 2021. The company produced 57,232 vehicles in 2023.
Rivian opened a new showroom in Seattle last year. The company reports fourth quarter earnings next week.
Other key personnel changes across the Pacific Northwest tech industry:
— Gift-giving startup Tokki announced Angie Snyder as its new president. Snyder joined the Seattle-based company in 2022 and was previously its CMO. She is the former CMO of Aegis Living and spent more than 13 years at Nordstrom in various marketing leadership roles.
— Seattle biotech vet Steve Levin was promoted to vice president of translational immunology at Parvus Therapeutics. Levin previously was a senior director at Alpine Immune Sciences.
