— Natalya Tatarchuk, a gaming industry veteran who was most recently a VP at Unity, joined Activision Publishing as chief technology officer.
Tatarchuk, based in the Seattle region, will oversee top-level technology goals for all Activision games, including the Call of Duty franchise.
She was previously a distinguished technical fellow and a chief architect at Unity. Tatarchuk also spent nearly eight years at Bungie, where she led teams working on Destiny and Halo.
Former Activision CTO Michael Vance will remain at the company.
Activision is part of the Activision Blizzard holding company that was recently acquired by Microsoft for $69 billion.
— Seattle-based application delivery giant F5 announced that Marie Myers stepped down from its board, effective Jan. 3. Myers recently began a new job as CFO at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. She joined the F5 board in 2019.
— Dr. Hans J. Moebius is stepping down as chief medical officer of Seattle-based biotech company due to retirement. The longtime biotech leader joined Athira in 2019 and will remain as senior scientific advisor to the company, which has initiated a search for his replacement. Athira is developing therapies to address Alzheimer’s disease. Its stock is up more than 60% in the past month.
— Ron Faith is taking on the CEO role at Redmond, Wash.-based RBC Signals, which facilitates ground-station communications for satellite operators. Faith, a serial entrepreneur in the Seattle area, has been the company’s president and chief operating officer for the past five years. Christopher Richins, who founded the company in 2015 and served as its CEO since its inception, will assume the role of chief strategy officer and will lead RBC Signals’ board of directors.
