The ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED has been around for a few years as a super-slim Windows PC laptop. ASUS has now updated it with the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, potentially making it a stronger competitor against the MacBook Air.

The new ASUS Zenbook 13 OLED (model UX5304) is the “world’s slimmest 13.3-inch OLED laptop,” which is such a narrow field that it’s not too difficult for ASUS to claim victory. It’s definitely thin, though, at an average depth of 10.9mm—that’s a bit thinner than the MacBook Air M2 at 11.3mm. The screen is a 16:10 panel with a resolution of 2880×1800 (roughly 3K), with a peak brightness of 600 nits and an 85% screen-to-body ratio. Since it’s an OLED panel, you’ll get deep blacks and vivid colors.

ASUS will sell the laptop with either an Intel Core Ultra 5 125U or an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U. Those are two of the Meteor Lake chips that Intel unveiled in December, with improved power efficiency and optimizations for on-device AI tasks. The new processors appear to be the only significant difference in this hardware revision—the laptop is otherwise identical to the 2023 model. That means there’s still no touch screen, and the screen still maxes out at a refesh rate of 60Hz. There is a Copilot key on the keyboard though, like some other laptops starting to ship this year.

There are some minor design tweaks. ASUS said in a press release, “For the first time, we have used a special manufacturing process to create an ASUS-exclusive plasma ceramic aluminum material for the lid. […] Along with the physical advantages, the look and feel of this material is similar to natural stone that resonates with the spirit of the Zenbook series. Incredibly, this makes each lid individually unique. No two are alike.”

The other hardware includes a full HD webcam, a 129 x 81 mm ASUS ErgoSense Touchpad, up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, up to 32GB RAM, a 63 Wh battery, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. For connectivity, you get two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A connector, HDMI 2.1, and a combo audio jack.

ASUS didin’t mention when the new Zenbook S 13 OLED will hit store shelves, so you’ll have to check the company’s website later to learn more. We don’t have confirmed pricing either, but the current model retails for $1,400.
