Most smart lights look goofy or dorky. If you need something that’s a bit more sophisticated, Philips Hue’s new Dymera wall light might be up your alley. It looks like a sleek indoor/outdoor wall light, but it offers all the smart functionality and color that you’d expect from a Philips Hue product.

The Dymera looks similar to previous Philips Hue wall lights. It has a metallic black exterior, it points light in two directions, and it requires wired power. The upward and downward-firing lights can be individually controlled, so you’re free to go crazy with colors or dimming—again, normal stuff for Philips Hue. But the Dymera is notable for its beveled edges. Other Philips Hue wall lights, such as the Resonate Outdoor, have a very boxy appearance.

Also, like most new Philips Hue products, the Dymera offers Bluetooth connectivity. An expensive Philips Hue Bridge allows you to control smart lights from outside your home (and is required for HomeKit connectivity), but a Bluetooth connection gives you all the basic features, including lighting customization, routines, and voice control through Google Assistant or Alexa. You can always buy the Philips Hue Bridge later if you deem it necessary.

Along with the new Dymera light, Philips Hue has announced two new connectors for its Perifo track lighting system. The Perifo Flexible connector allows you to run track lighting rails in any direction. It may also come in handy when connecting track lights between your wall and ceiling. As for the Perifo T connector, it’s exactly what it sounds like—a T-shaped connector for three lights. As a side note, Perifo users should check out Philips Hue’s pendant cord connectors, which flew under the radar in late 2022.

You can purchase the Philips Hue Dymera wall light on February 27th for $220. The new Perifo track lighting connectors cost $35 apiece but don’t go on sale until April. Philips Hue has also launched the $200 Secure wired camera that it announced last year. A new $400 Secure Starter Kit, which includes the wired camera, two contact sensors, a pair of smart bulbs, and a Philips Hue bridge, will go on sale in the coming months.
