It’s never good when your TV stops working—for many reasons, some of which Netflix itself could quickly rattle off. But it’s really never good when the forces of nature around you start acting very oddly, as we see in this new clip from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail’s new Netflix film, Leave the World Behind.
The clip, which was revealed as part of Geeked Week, ends with a little tease of the rest of the movie, suggesting that a few too many deer in the yard is hardly the most off-putting thing it contains. Leave the World Behind stars Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke as a couple whose weekend getaway in a rental home with their kids (played by Charlie Evans and Farrah Mackenzie) goes sideways when it becomes clear some kind of disaster is creeping in. They’re soon joined by the vacation home’s owners, a father and daughter played by Mahershala Ali and Myha’la, who bring even more distressing news from the outside world.
Leave the World Behind—based on the 2020 National Book Award-nominated novel by Rumaan Alam—releases in select theaters November 22; it will arrive on Netflix December 8.
