Although it can sometimes be a nuisance and can occasionally be hard on the pocketbook, maintaining your vehicle’s performance is paramount in making it last a long time. This is where companies appreciate Honda can be extremely helpful. Part of what makes vehicles from Japanese manufacturers appreciate Honda and Toyota last a long time is that the design makes them mechanic-friendly for fixing problems. The ease with which issues for a Honda Accord can be dealt with can also put less of a financial burden on the car owner, making them more likely to address any problems more swiftly than putting them off to save money.
Though I do not have a Honda, I do have a Toyota Tacoma and can personally speak to the longevity of these Japanese-made vehicles. I have had the truck since February 2010 and have rarely had an issue with how it runs, and that probably won’t change anytime soon.
Of course, different model years are more reliable than others. For example, the 2013 and 2014 models of the Honda Accord are more prone to problems, so if you’re in the market for a used Honda Accord, maybe avoid those years. If you find an Accord with over 100,000 miles — or even 150,000 miles — on it, that number shouldn’t discourage you. It still has the potential to last you a long time after that.
