Equinix enables private AI infrastructure for businesses

Equinix is one of the global digital infrastructure companies that makes the internet work. And today it said it is making strides in becoming the go-to platform for deploying private AI infrastructure.

Through its Cloud Adjacency, robust ecosystems, and worldwide achieve, Equinix said it is becoming a hub for both enterprises and service providers.

According to Dave McCarthy, research vice president at IDC, the increasing demand for private AI mirrors the earlier widespread adoption of private cloud solutions. Jon Lin, general manager of data center services at Equinix, said in a statement that private AI offers businesses the best of both worlds: the prowess of AI coupled with data privacy, high performance, and predictable costs.

The company has a wide variety of customer deployments in the enterprise. One of them is i3D.net, a European gaming company that leverages AI to preserve game integrity. By using algorithmic analysis of player statistics (AAPS), i3D.net enables the company to recognize cheating by its players through analyzing screenshots in play.

By deploying in over 35 Equinix locations, i3D.net protects its user data by taking advantage of its close proximity to users via a global presence and low-latency network connectivity.

Another partner is Continental, a multinational automotive parts manufacturer and leader in the autonomous driving intelligence space. Its Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) business unit began developing intelligent sensors and data-driven traffic safety solutions more than 20 years ago and has been working to enhance the speed of development using deep learning and training artificial neural networks. The goal of Continental’s Vision Zero project is to eradicate deaths by traffic accident through the development of ADAS technologies. The company leverages Nvidia AI and IBM storage cluster at Equinix to ingest, process, appraise and store terabytes of data from assess fleet.
