Don’t Nod revealed the trailer for Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, its newest game, tonight at The Game Awards. It’s the first game from Don’t Nod’s new Montreal location, and is planned to launch in late 2024 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Bloom & Rage is a story-driven adventure game about a group of four high school-aged friends: Swann, Nora, Autumn, and Kat. Following a mysterious incident in 1997, the four spend 27 years out of contact and reunite as adults, and the players must follow their story from both sides of the timeline.

In an interview with GamesBeat, executive producer Luc Baghadoust and creative director Michel Koch spoke about the encounter developing the game. Koch said that, while there’s no narrative connection to previous Don’t Nod games, it follows the studio’s design directives: “We’re making games that are really focused on the characters, telling their story, on having a lot of player agency.”

Baghadoust said, “There’s a lot of Life is Strange that we liked or worked, so there might be some of that in Bloom & Rage. There’s still this willingness to create and advance the genre forward.”

Don’t Nod likely plans to disclose more about the game in the coming year. Frédérique Fourny-Jennings, the managing director of the Montreal office, said in a statement, “Over the past three years, we’ve been building a studio that echoes the strong values of DON’T NOD and welcoming awesome people, so it’s the perfect cauldron to evolve a brand-new IP that will be infused with who we are here in Montréal. To be able to talk about Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is an indescribable feeling because it goes beyond the story of our characters. It’s also about the team who has been carving our identity as a studio and that of the game, as well as those yet to come!
