It’s that time of year when retailers begin dropping huge discounts and deals on just about everything. Yes, Black Friday 2023 is almost upon us.

It also means it’s the perfect time to pick up a PlayStation 5 if you haven’t got your hands on one yet, whether that’s the console itself or a fun bundle with additional games and accessories.

Here, we’ll give you the run-down of Black Friday PS5 deals, including what to expect from this year’s shopping event, along with an analysis of the best PS5 deals from Black Friday 2022 and our hand-picked selection of the best early Black Friday deals available right now.

We’ve also got a live article on the best early Black Friday deals if you’re on the hunt for non-PS5 bargains.

When is Black Friday 2023?

Black Friday 2023 takes place on Friday 24 November 2023, with the side-kick Cyber Monday taking place on Monday 27 November 2023

However, many retailers have already started the Black Friday fun with ‘Black November’ deals. As such, you can already bag yourself on a bargain on a PS5 bundle – but more on that a little later.

What PS5 deals do we expect from Black Friday 2023?

When it comes to Black Friday 2023, we expect to see the focus not on discounts on the PS5 console itself, but instead on bundles that package the next-gen console with games or accessories – much like we saw in 2022. We’ve already seen early examples of this, with Very bundling the PS5 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III for a rather tempting £399.

But as with Black Friday 2022 – something we cover in more detail in a bit – we fully expect to see deals on PS5 accessories including the DualSense controllers and possibly even Sony’s official PS5 headphones. It’s also possible that we’ll see discounts on the PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra and Premium subscriptions as Sony tries to tempt more users to its service.

Stepping away from pure hardware, it’s almost guaranteed that we’ll see discounts on popular PS5 titles released this year like Final Fantasy XVI, Spider-Man 2 and Assassin’s Creed Mirage

So, while you likely won’t bag a discount on the console itself, you’ll at least be equipped with cheap games and accessories to use with it.

What were the PS5 deals like on Black Friday 2022?

Black Friday 2022 was the first year that we truly started seeing deals and bundles on Sony’s latest console, following a severe lack of stock after the console initially launched in 2020.

That meant we saw tempting PS5 bundles, like one that bundled the PS5 with God of War: Ragnarok – one of the newest PS5 titles at the time – along with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II AND a £10 gift card for £592. You could also bag more straightforward combos, like the PS5 and God of War Ragnarok and a £10 gift card for £539.

Of course, it’s not only the PS5 console itself that was treated to discounts during Black Friday 2022. We also saw hefty discounts on PS5 accessories like the DualSense controller, down to £44.99 from its £59.99 RRP, as well as a £100 PlayStation Store Gift Card for £89.95.

Games also took centre stage during the Black Friday 2022 sales, with deals on some of the most popular games of 2022 including FIFA 23 (£46.99), The Last of Us Part I (£41.99), Dying Light 2: Stay Human (£29.99) and Sonic Frontiers (£34.99).

It’s safe to say we expect much the same in the run-up to Black Friday 2023!
