Read on for a list of the best laptop deals as of Dec. 14. Best laptop deals under $300

Why we appreciate it

This Dell laptop features last year’s Intel Core i3 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, and a 15.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s nothing spectacular, but it’s a spec sheet we rarely see at this price point: Most cheap, entry-level PCs under $300 have dinky discontinued Intel Pentium/Celeron CPUs, 4GB of RAM, pokier eMMC flash storage that maxes out at 128GB, and 60Hz refresh rates. It’s marked down to $279.99 on Dell’s website (or 26% off) — a fantastic price for this particular configuration.

Sub-$600 gaming PCs were some of the fastest-selling laptops during last month’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. We found two of them at the time of writing, and this $599.99 Dell G15 is the better deal of the two at 33% off. It’s a 15-inch gaming laptop that comes with a 13th-generation Intel Core i5 HX-series CPU (that rivals many desktops’ processors), NVIDIA GeForce 3050 graphics, 8GB of memory, 512GB of storage, a backlit keyboard, and a 120Hz display — a surprisingly stellar (if slightly outdated) spec sheet.

Read Mashable’s full review of the M1 Apple MacBook Air.

The 13-inch MacBook Air from late 2020 nabbed a Mashable Choice Award upon release for its zippy M1 chip, quiet fanless design, and 18-hour battery life. We’re still recommending it three years later as the best budget MacBook on the market, and its 256GB base model is currently on sale for just $749.99 at Amazon (look for a coupon that knocks an extra $99.01 off the price) and Best Buy — a 25% savings. It’s dipped lower once before, when it briefly hit $729.99, but it’s still a bargain at $750, and you won’t find a cheaper MacBook anywhere right now unless you go the used or refurbished route.

Read Mashable’s full review of the 15-inch M2 Apple MacBook Air.

This year’s 15-inch version of the M2 MacBook Air has a slightly larger (but just as pretty) Liquid Retina display and six speakers instead of four. Best of all, it still only weighs about three pounds. Amazon and Best Buy have the 256GB model marked down to $1,049 (normally $1,299), or 19% off. It’s only been cheaper once before, and only for paid members of the My Best Buy program. This is a pretty sweet buy if you don’t want to splurge on one of the new M3 MacBook Pros, which are probably overkill for most people, realistically.

Unimpressive battery life aside, last year’s 15-inch Razer Blade 15 offers “the best premium mix of mobility and performance” among gaming laptops. (That’s according to the experts at our sister site PCMag (owned by Mashable’s publisher, Ziff Davis), who awarded it a 4/5 rating of “Excellent.”) The 1TB model with a 12th-gen Intel Core i7 H-series processor, GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics, and 16GB of RAM is on sale for $1,799.99 via Razer’s website, which takes a whopping $1,200 off its sticker price. It also comes with a free $200 gift card that you can put toward some snazzy new peripherals — we’re partial to the BlackShark V2 Pro headset, the BlackWidow V4 Pro keyboard, and the Basilisk Ultimate mouse.
