Members of the Apple Developer Academies in Indonesia

Apple has announced a new Apple Developer Academy for Bali, which will have a nine-month program teaching coding, marketing and all the skills to create apps.

In 2018, Apple opened its first Apple Developer Academy in Indonesia, and since expanded it from Jakarta to Surabaya and Batam. Over 2,000 students have attended and Apple says that 90% of its graduates have gone on to what it calls meaningful employment.

“We’re excited by the growing developer community in Indonesia,” he continued, “and we look forward to investing in the success of even more coders with our fourth academy in the country.”

So far the Developer Academy program in the country has welcomed students from over 90 Indonesian cities, with varying backgrounds and education. They include Mary Santoso, who was 38 when she joined in 2022, and has now created a neurodiverse-friendly iPad game called WonderJack.

“As a stay-at-home mom, the Apple Developer Academy helped me transform and focus on my mission to help children facing learning challenges that are similar to ones my daughter faces,” she said. “The guidance from mentors helped us hone our problem-solving skills and equipped us with the tools to build WonderJack, an app that aims to unlock the potential of all children.”
