Seoul’s seventh Apple Store opens on Saturday, January 20, with a special Today at Apple Pop-Up Studio featuring hip-hop artist Beenzino.
Apple Hongdae is Apple’s seventh retail store in Seoul, South Korea, and its 100th Apple Store location in the Asia-Pacific region. The new store’s location is in the middle of a university neighborhood, and many of the store’s launch specials center around education.
Students and families can save on a Mac or iPad with Apple Education Pricing, plus there’s a college student offer through March 13. Students can receive AirPods when they buy a Mac or an Apple Pencil with an iPad.
“We couldn’t be more excited to bring our customers in Korea something special at the start of the year with the opening of the all-new Apple Hongdae,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail. “Combining the latest in Apple technology with the creative passion of the local community, this new store will build on the extraordinary connection we have with our customers in Korea. Our team members are excited to welcome in customers and help them discover the latest in our products and services, including the iPhone 15 lineup.”
Hip-hop artist Beenzino is the subject of Apple’s special Today at Apple Pop-Up Studio, starting opening day at 5 p.m. The session Explore Freeform on iPad lets customers collect ideas, art, and more for their own 2024 vision boards. The session will tease the inspiration behind Beenzino’s new single “Train,” which is exclusive to Apple Music.
Apple’s previous Seoul stores include Hanam, Gangnam, Jamsil, Myeongdong, Yeouido, and Garosugil. The retail locations open with special events that usually feature artists like New Jeans and other popular musicians.
