Although the world is still waiting on a Folgare (all-electric) version of the GranCabrio, the gas-powered, Trident-badged car isn’t exactly low-tech. It’s fitted with four drive modes: Comfort, GT, Sport, and the more “extreme” Corsa. Additionally, you have the option to turn all of the electronic controls off and go wild with all 542 horsepower on tap. Maserati’s in-house designed VDCM (Vehicle Domain Control Module) software controls all major components of the car.
It has a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and an 8.8-inch “comfort” display that controls HVAC and the convertible top. The steering wheel is also a substantial piece of technology, where you select your drive modes and turn the car on and off. Brakes are furnished by Brembo, with six-piston calipers on the front and four-piston calipers on the back.
Maserati has not given any detail as to how much it will cost, opting to release that information closer to launch. As of now, there is also no information about the GranCabrio’s inevitable electrification either.
