Berlin (dpa / d.de) – Environment Minister Steffi Lemke is representing the Federal Government at UNEA-6 in Nairobi from 26 February to 1 March. In particular, the Minister is looking to advocate the conscious use of global water resources, sustainable chemicals management and greater resource conservation. A resolution is to be passed calling on states to protect, restore and monitor their water resources. In addition, the results of the Global Chemicals Framework recently adopted in Bonn under the German Presidency are to be prominently highlighted in the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). United Nations Environment Assembly  

The United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) is the highest decision-making body of the 193 member states in the UN on environmental matters. According to the organisers, UNEA-6 is the largest conference to date with more than 5,000 delegates.
