Throwback Thursday

Every Thursday, we feature an image from the StarPhoenix archives, curated by the City of Saskatoon Archives. Today, we see a group of young tap dancers preparing for the Saskatoon Playgrounds Association’s ballet and tap recital, from April 25, 1961. SPA officials said 52 children between the ages of five and 18 will participate in the two-part recital which will be held in St. Paul’s Cathedral auditorium on Friday night and in the Saskatoon Recreation Centre on Saturday.

The recital centres around two themes, “Cosmopolitan Cafe,” and “Stairway to the Stars.”
