Homicide detectives took over the investigation into Peel Region’s 12th killing of the year.

Peel officers, meanwhile, offered no update on Saturday morning’s fatal shooting of a man in a Brampton neighbourhood.

Police say officers responded to the deadly shooting call on Ivor Cr. – near Mississauga Rd and Sandalwood Pkwy. – around 7:20 a.m. and found the gravely injured man on the driveway in front of a house.

The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives are investigating but have offered few details, including the identity of the victim or any information about a suspect.

They have confirmed the two killings are not related.
