Ottawa-Carleton District School Board spokesperson Darcy Knoll said the lockdown was a “precaution” to support the police investigation, and students and staff were kept in classrooms.
“No students or staff were physically harmed,” he said via email.
Around 3:42 p.m., Ottawa police said arrests had been made, but provided no details, except that “the investigation continues.”
The end of the school day was delayed, Knoll said, and a co-ordinated dismissal was underway at about 4:20 p.m.
