Pride Street Festival: Fruit Loop’s third annual all-ages street party kicks off Pride Month with an epic, all-ages, outdoor mingler full of drag shows, dancers, a Doggos and Drag photo booth, food trucks, workshops and of course a bustling beer garden outside Grindstone Theatre.
There’s a noon drag brunch with Ladonna Stone, Drag Story Time at 1:30 p.m., with events continuing day and night through to the sophisticated House of Art and Finale showcases, with Celine Dejion, Honey Dijon, Meatsack, Voula Callas, Mayari, Ladonna Cree and Ivy League.

Then, Sunday inside the venue, are Pride Workshops, including drag king and queen makeup and queer street arts — register for those at grindstonetheatre.ca/adultworkshops.

Cat Meet-Up in the Park: This free-to-attend meow mixer follows the success of last year’s first Edmonton International Cat Fest kitty social, human attendants asked to bring their leased feline fuzzballs to the lovely Paul Kane Park and, basically, just see what happens.
Topics of discussion will include cats and, uh, possibly other things — but if your cat likes to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new smells and grassy destinations, to boldly purr where mostly dogs have gone before, this is the place to stretch out.

FALCONET: Drawing from Medieval imagery, Laurel Westland’s instantly recognizable sculptural prints are made using hand-cut stencils screened and layered onto wood.
“Arising from an unconscious mind confronted with uncertainties and nebulous fears,” explains Westland, “these skeletal memento mori figures forge their way through the battles unphased.”
A collage of bold line work, saturated colours and hints of lurid fluorescent hues, hidden layers will emerge into glowing night scenes that only appear in the dark.
