The Stand Up Show: With material stemming from being a first-generation Filipino-Canadian, a mom, a wife and “being tired,” local Celeste Lampa has performed in the SheDot Comedy Festival in Toronto and at the Grindstone Comedy Festival here in the summer. Stopmotion (2023): In Robert Morgan’s live action-animated horror (for which he won best director at Fantastic Fest), we follow animator Suzanne Blake (Stella Gonet) who — unable to use her hands due to arthritis — enlists her daughter Ella (Aisling Franciosi) to help finish her most recent film. When Suzanne suffers a stroke and falls comatose, Ella resolves to finish the film on her own, but as her mind starts to fracture, the animated characters take on a life of their own. 93 mins. PS, Shinya Tsukamoto’s Tetsuo: the Iron Man follows at 9:30 p.m. if you want to keep the unnerving weirdness going.
