Celeigh Cardinal and the ESO: Powerful Juno-winning Métis soul-folk singer “who writes sad songs but tries to make it fun” makes her Edmonton Symphony Orchestra debut with this two-night run in the city’s soft-seat symphonic centre.
Playing special orchestral arrangements of her own like The Devil is a Blue-Eyed Man, When All is Said and Done and Song by the Supermoon, Cardinal and the symphony will also perform pop classics including At Last and — very sweet — Sweet Dreams Are Made of These.

Dreamspeakers International Film Festival: More than 40 mostly films from around the world including Canada, Australia, Mexico, Iran and Japan are in this year’s hybrid in-person/online lineup. From Friday to Sunday, 15 mostly documentary programs play at Metro Cinema, including stories focusing on bareback horse racing, residential schools, two-spirit life and many other subjects.

Felice Noir: This closing exhibition dubbed International Women’s Gallery Night celebrates the art on the café walls for the last two months.
Robin Cisek, Matti Dawn, Hannah Cozicar, Eunju Park and Alysson McKee will chat about their work in a wide range of styles, from Cozicar’s animal and celebrity paintings to a striking Hanji-paper impressionistic cityscape by Park. Music and libations to accompany.
