The owner of a Lamborghini was assaulted and run over repeatedly by his own vehicle after carjackers made off with his luxury car, according to Toronto Police.

The owner of a white Lamborghini Urus was assaulted after four thugs approached him at a gas station in the Yonge St.-Sheppard Ave. road area. on April 8, at around 8 p.m. The carjackers took his keys and made off with the car.

“The victim was repeatedly assaulted and run over by his own (car) as the suspects fled,” said Toronto Police Insp. Joseph Matys on Tuesday.

“He suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Trauma inflicted on victims of this violence cannot be overstated. Being threatened with a gun can have long-term impact on one’s sense of safety.”

In the second car theft, three masked men dressed in black and brandishing a firearm allegedly approached a motorist on April 6 around 2 p.m., demanded keys and made off with the victim’s BMW X5 from a parking lot in the Ellesmere-Kennedy Rds. area, said police.

Officers were in the Islington Ave. and Steeles Ave. area on April 12, around 10:27 p.m., when they drove by the stolen Lamborghini.

According to the allegations, officers followed the Lamborghini to a parking lot at Barmac Dr. where the driver of the vehicle went into an establishment. He was allegedly joined by three individuals who arrived in the BMW X5 involved in the April 6 carjacking.

“Officers moved in to make an arrest,” said Toronto Police Supt. Andy Singh.

“To evade police, the driver (of the BMW X5) recklessly reversed up a hill and smashed into police vehicles. (It) was nothing short of absolute disregard for any lives,” alleged Singh. “Police were forced to smash the windows of the vehicle because the driver was revving the vehicle to actually break out of the box (of police cars). Their non-compliance led to (police) having to use a Taser.”

Mehkash Sohal, 21, of Mississauga; Daquon Green, 19, of Oakville; and
a male youth, 17, of Oshawa, face numerous charges. None of the allegations have been tested in court.

“One of the Glock handguns, which also had a high-capacity magazine, also had an automatic switch, and what that means is with the depression of the trigger, the handgun is able to enter the entire contents of the ammunition, making it an automatic weapon and you can imagine how much of a risk that poses to police officers and the general public,” said Singh.

The 2024 BMW X5 was valued at approximately $175,000 and the 2021 Lamborghini Urus was valued at approximately $400,000.

Matys said last year by April 8, Toronto had 23 carjackings compared to 45 by the same date in 2024.
