The Windsor Express picked up back-to-back wins on the weekend.
The Express rallied in the fourth quarter to knock the London Lightning out of first place in the Basketball Super League with a 100-95 win at Budweiser Gardens.That followed a 121-113 win over the Newfoundland Rouges on Saturday at the WFCU Centre.

“These were two big wins,” Express head coach Bill Jones said.

Windsor erased a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter to win for the third time in five meetings this season against the Lightning with two of those wins coming in London.
“(Sunday) was a gut check,” Jones aid. “We had to play the first-place team on short rest. The guys stuck together and pulled out the victory.”
Paul Harrison had a monster game with 30 points and 14 rebounds for the Express (9-6), who are tied with first-place Kitchener (11-6) and the Rogues (8-6) for fewest losses in th league this season. Latin Davis added 20 points against the Lightning (12-7) while Shadell Millinghaus chipped in with 11 points.
On Saturday, the Express used a 39-point fourth quarter to erase a six-point Newfoundland lead and improve to 6-1 at home.
“(Saturday’s) game was a great effort for us to score 39 points,” Jones said. “We struggled and were still able to pull out the victory against a good team.”
Ty Groce finished with 30 points for the Express while Millinghaus added 22 points and 10 rebounds against the Rogues. Davis added 17 points for Windsor while Montrell Jacobs added 15 points and Sam Muldrow chipped in with 13 points.

The Rouges will again face the Express on Wednesday at the WFCU Centre at 7 p.m.
Saints sit fourth
Both the St. Clair Saints men’s and women’s basketball team settled for fourth-place finishes at the OCAA Final Four.
The men fell 82-69 to the host Durham Lords in Sunday’s bronze-medal game in Oshawa.
Andrew Loyuk finished with 24 points to lead the Saints, who fell 83-75 to the George Brown Huskies in Saturday’s semifinal match. Mazin Tiea added 16 points and Galdo Tutu added 15 points in Sunday’s loss.
In Saturday’s match, Jesiah Deerr had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Saints. Tiea finished with 14 points and Loyuk added 11 points.
The women’s team fell 67-52 to the Niagara Knights on Sunday in the bronze-medal game in Sarnia. That followed a 73-58 loss to the Algonquin Wolves in Saturday’s semifinal.
Ana Buklarewicz had 14 points to lead the Saints in Sunday’s medal game. On Saturday, Kaitlyn Overeem finished with 19 points while Janae Smith added 17 points
Flyers drop another
The Leamington Flyers will limp into the Ontario Junior Hockey League playoffs on a six-game losing streak.

The Flyers closed regular-season play with a 3-2 road loss to the Brantford 99ers on Sunday.
Darian Anderson and Chris O’Flaherty scored for the Flyers (34-14-5-3), who finished third in the Western Conference.
Vipers send message
The LaSale Vipers sent a message on Sunday as Western Conference play in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League came to a close.
In a first-round playoff preview, the Vipers rolled to a 9-4 road win over the Chatham Maroons.
Lee Knight scored twice and finished with five points for the fourth-place Vipers (31-18-1-0). Adriano Tonin added a pair of goals against the fifth-place Maroons (26-21-2-1) with single goals going to LaSalle’s Drew Booker, who also had three assists, Gage Evans, Brendan Gouin, Adrian Manzo and Alec Stewart.
Canadiens complete sweep
The top-seeded Lakeshore Canadiens completed a first-round sweep of the eighth-seeded Walpole Island Wild on Sunday.
The Canadiens scored a 3-0 road win over the Walpole Island to take the best-of-seven series 4-0 in Bill Stobbs Division play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League.

Goalie Boe Piroski made 18 saves to record the shutout with Landon Prince, Josh Cyrenne and Julian Gignac scoring single for for the Canadiens.
73’s on verge
The second-seeded Essex 73’s moved to within a game of sweeping the seventh-seeded Dresden Kings.
Essex’s 4-0 win at home on Sunday gave the 73’s a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series in Bill Stobbs Division play in the Provincial Junior Hockey League.
Luke Sherk scored twice for the 73’s with Jayden Seguin and Cael McCabe adding single goals. Wyatt Sloetjes made 15 saves to earn the shutout.
Admirals face elimination
The sixth-seeded Amherstburg Admirals face elimination after a 6-2 loss to the third-seeded Blenheim Blades on Sunday.
Amherstburg must win at home on Tuesday to avoid being swept by the Blades, who hold a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series in Bill Stobbs Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League. Mitchell Demelo scored both goals for the Admirals.
The Blades won Game 2 of the series on Saturday in Amherstburg by a 6-2 count with Jake Goudreault and Cale Vaillancourt scoring single goals.
