“A post-mortem examination was conducted on April 2, 2024, which determined the death was the result of a homicide,” the OPP said in a news release.

Police identified the victim as David Robson, 65, who was reported missing from Melancthon Township on March 25. They had not been able to locate his vehicle, however, which is a black 2017 Kia Sportage with the Ontario licence plate DAMZ 252.

The OPP said it does not believe there is a risk to public safety as “investigators do not consider this to be a random incident. However, members of the public are reminded to be aware of their surroundings at all times.”

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information about Robson’s vehicle or who witnessed suspicious activity on Chinguacousy between Saturday and Monday is asked to contact the Dufferin OPP detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
