City of Regina’s annual spring litter cleanup has begin once again, and will continue until the grass begins to grow.

In a news release the city said that crews will be collecting litter alongside Ring Road, Victoria Avenue East, Arcola Avenue, Lewvan Drive and “other high-speed roadways”, and is asking drivers to slow down when passing workers.

Grass growth typically starts in May or June, the city said, visible litter was picked up during the winter months.

The city also said that concerned residents can help keep the city free of litter by getting involved in the Adopt-a-Greenspace program, where volunteers maintain a specific open space area, and to secure loads and cover them with a tarp when making a trip to the landfill.
