You might want to keep that snow shovel handy for the end of the week as Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of Nova Scotia, including Cape Breton, warning of a multi-day snowfall event.
The national forecaster says snow will start to fall in the overnight hours on Wednesday and will continue through Friday morning. The 10-20 cm of snow forecast is likely to be very wet and heavy, and coupled with some strong winds associated with this storm, it could cause tree branches to break or cause utility outages.
Environment Canada says the snow could impact Thursday’s morning and evening commutes.
