“A 34-year-old male died as a result of self-inflicted injuries,” the news release said.

RCMP first notified the public about the deaths on Monday, in a release stating that officers came across the bodies while conducting a wellness check on Sunday at a home near the small rural community.

As of Tuesday, police vehicles could be seen blocking the approach to a rural home northeast of Neudorf.

RCMP have said next of kin have been notified and victim services made available to them. As no charges are being laid, RCMP said they do not anticipate providing any further updates.

When asked why the names of the deceased were not released, an RCMP communications person provided an emailed response stating: “We abide by the Privacy Act and may only release the name of deceased individuals if there is an investigational reason to do so, or if they are otherwise publicly available (ie through a court information). As these elements do not exist in this incident, we are unable to name the deceased.”
