Titan Casket’s viral ad, which stars actor David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer and Dune), highlights some of the reported health issues associated with the time change.

“If an actual casket company doesn’t think it is worth keeping around, who does? … At Titan Casket, we obviously have an interest in you dying, but we can wait,” the ad states.

“We are pinching ourselves every day. This ad is just amazing,” Titan cofounder Scott Ginsberg told NBC Boston.

Going hand in hand with the viral ad is a website that asks people to help bury DST once and for all.

In October 2019, then-premier John Horgan and the B.C. NDP passed legislation to make daylight time permanent.

But because Washington State, Oregon and California were not going to make the change, B.C. didn’t move forward with the plan in order to keep its economy aligned.

Premier David Eby, like Horgan, has said the change will only happen once those Western U.S. states also axe DST.

Horgan, who is now Canada’s ambassador to Germany, had this to say about the ad and DST when Postmedia reached him in England on Sunday.

“I loved the ad,” said Horgan via a text message. “Not sure if Ryan Reynolds has a position on DST. In hindsight, I wish I had just done it, but the value of a common West Coast time zone prevented me from being too impulsive.

“People want the clock change gone. I hope the U.S. gets it together to make the change with us sooner rather than later.”

This isn’t Titan’s first brush with viral fame. The Company had one of its caskets appear in Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero music video.
