A 48-year-old Red Deer man is facing 27 criminal charges after a year-long weapons trafficking investigation, Alberta RCMP say.
In a Friday news release, Red Deer RCMP said its General Investigation Section (GIS) struck an investigation in January 2023 looking into firearms trafficking.

As a result, officers executed a search warrant at a home in Red Deer and seized a number of items, including firearms and firearm components, equipment for the manufacturing of firearms, a stolen vehicle which had its VIN number changed, equipment for altering the VIN of stolen vehicles, fraudulent documents and equipment for creating these documents, stolen property, and various drugs and other equipment.
