Police said the crash occurred at about 2 p.m. in the westbound lanes between the Cannifton Road/Highway 37 exit and the Shannonville Road exit.

According to police, the tow truck hit the highway shoulder and ended up in the northside ditch.

The tow truck flipped on its side and remained connected to the concrete pump truck.

The recovery of the vehicles is to begin at 10 p.m. Saturday.

There will lane closures so travellers can expect “minor delays” until crews clear the area.
