In the first incident, Razak was found guilty of sexually assaulting and robbing a sex worker at Glen Park in Vancouver on Sept. 2, 2017.

According to sentencing documents, Razak attacked the victim, identified as M.F., choking her and assaulting her several times while calling her demeaning and derogatory names.

M.F. testified she was made to kneel down and “pray to her God,” and that Razak threatened he or his friends could kill her “by slashing her throat and burying her alive.”

M.F. escaped and ran to a nearby house for help. Razak was arrested.

Three months later, on Nov. 18, Razak assaulted a woman he had a previous relationship with, identified as V.N.

Razak showed up intoxicated at V.N.’s home in Burnaby and then assaulted her in a vehicle. V.N. was able to call 911 and get help.

Razak was arrested and held in custody until his trial and sentencing.

At the time of sentencing, the judge said Razak’s chances of rehabilitation were “extremely unclear” and sentenced him to 4½ years for the first offence. After partial credit for time served awaiting trial, Razak served 30 months.

As part of the peace bond, Razak is under conditions not to drink or possess alcohol and drugs and to follow a curfew between 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Anyone who sees Razak violating these conditions is asked to contact 911.
