Alberta RCMP is advising motorists to take caution in and around Leduc due to low visibility and poor driving conditions being caused by snow and icy roads.

Mounties have already responded to multiple collisions along the QE II Highway in Leduc, adding to the 52 collisions along the highway that were reported between Edmonton and Calgary on Wednesday.

“If you do not have to travel, please stay home,” said the RCMP in a statement.

“If you must travel, RCMP are reminding road users to use extreme caution, slow down and maintain an increased distance between yourself and other drivers.”

Drivers are reminded to check road conditions by using Alberta 511.
