Police in St. Albert are investigating after a man allegedly tore down and stole a Pride flag from a home earlier this month.

St. Albert RCMP say it happened April 12 around 2 p.m. in the Lacombe subdivision.

Authorities say the man first rang the doorbell, then tore the flag down from its flagpole “when no one came to the door.”

The suspect is described as having brown hair with an undercut hairstyle. He was wearing glasses, a dark sweater or jacket, and a paisley shirt with a dark tie. He had a coil notebook and pen in the front shirt pocket.

Anyone with information is asked to call St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700, local police, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Earlier this month a Pride flag was removed from the front of a downtown Edmonton business and thrown into the garbage.
