A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed early Saturday morning on Vancouver’s North Shore.
North Vancouver RCMP received a call about a pedestrian being struck just before 6 a.m., according to Cpl. Dave Noon.
Photos and video footage of the scene at West 1st Street and Forbes Avenue show a North Shore taxi with a dent in the front corner.
“Despite life-saving efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Noon said.
Mounties, the fire department and ambulance services all responded to the incident.
Officers are investigating the collision alongside the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service, he said.
B.C. Emergency Health Services confirmed two ambulances responded to a motor vehicle incident on the North Shore on Saturday morning and that paramedics did not take any patients to the hospital.
