Recently, Premier Danielle Smith announced a sweeping set of “parental rights” policies that would require schools to obtain parental consent prior to using a youth’s chosen name or pronouns and implements a parental opt-in policy for students to receive any education about human sexuality, sexual orientation or gender identity.
