Officers were called shortly after 6 a.m. on Wednesday when a resident spotted the body on a grassy strip near Rosemont Drive and East 57th Avenue in the Killarney neighbourhood.

A dark-coloured Acura was parked next to the body with a passenger door ajar. Police later set up a forensics’ tent and closed the road to traffic, while pedestrians were asked to steer clear of the crime scene.

Visintin said police believe the woman’s death was targeted.

Anyone with information that could help with the case is asked to call the Vancouver police homicide unit at 604-717-2500.
