In a statement posted to social media, she explained that this operation was successful and “I feel that this time it’s for good.” She said she wanted to give herself “real time to stop and rest.”

“After the first operation, I practically got on my bike when I left the hospital to come back to the office,” she said.

“Then, following the second operation, I quickly returned to work in “gradual return” mode at four days/week. This time, I will listen to my heart, because I want to continue to listen to you, represent and support you,” she added.

Massé was elected MNA for Montreal’s Sainte-Marie—Saint-Jacques riding in the 2014 general election. She was then re-elected in 2018, then in 2022. She is the former co-spokesperson for Québec solidaire.
