That wasn’t a positive development for Nick Robertson.

The Leafs late on Saturday afternoon activated Jarnkrok from injured reserve, and based on practice on Friday, he will slot in on the right wing on the third line with centre John Tavares and left winger Bobby McMann against the New York Rangers at Scotiabank Arena.
As a result of the Jarnkrok activation, the Leafs loaned Robertson to the Toronto Marlies.
It’s another stall for Robertson, who had just one goal in his past 14 games. It didn’t help the 22-year-old that McMann has been providing a spark, even though McMann had not scored in four games before Saturday. And it didn’t help Robertson that he does not require waivers to be sent to the minors.
The industrious Jarnkrok missed 13 games, during which the Leafs went 10-3-0, after he suffered a broken knuckle in practice on Jan. 26.
