Police are searching for man who breached the conditions of his statutory release from federal prison and is known to frequent southwestern Ontario areas, including Windsor and Chatham-Kent.

Nicholas McCullough, 30, who is serving a six-year, seven-month sentence, is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

A Windsor judge in 2019 sentenced McCullough to eight years in prison for a 2015 shooting incident in which he fired a gun at another man in a downtown Windsor alley. He was given 513 days credit for 341 days spent in pre-sentence custody.

McCullough is now also wanted by Windsor police on numerous new charges.

Described as a white male, six feet tall (183 centimetres) and weighing 187 pounds (84 kilograms), McCullough has brown hair and brown eyes. He has scars on his right cheek, left elbow and shoulders and a tattoo of a cross on his chest.

McCullough is serving a sentence for aggravated assault, possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, discharge of a  restricted/prohibited firearm with intent, possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order and failure to comply with a probation order.

McCullough is wanted by Windsor police for alleged break and enter, wearing a disguise, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, robbery, use of a firearm when committing an indictable offence, possession of a danger weapon, six counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited and assault causing bodily harm.

The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) squad is asking for the public’s assistance in locating McCullough.

Police said he is known to frequent the Windsor, Chatham-Kent, London and Sarnia areas.
