Why cover your grey hair when you can embrace it using use grey blending?
More and more of my clients, like Emma, are leaning in to the idea of gracefully blending out their grey hair as opposed to completely covering it with an all-over colour. Grey blending is a multi-dimensional colour technique used to incorporate the silver hairs using similar tones that already exist in the hair.

Emma’s hair was previously highlighted and had an in-between permanent colour applied to her outgrowth. This placement meant that, when her colour grew out, she was left with a strong demarcation line and required regular root touch-ups. She wasn’t loving the maintenance, nor the colour, and was hoping for a lighter and brighter look with less maintenance.
To create her blended grey colour, I used platinum blond highlights to lighten and brighten her hair — especially in the areas around her face — and chose silvery-brown lowlights to create depth and dimension. I eliminated the root touch-up from her colour equation to allow her natural silver to become part of her new formula. We eliminated several inches from her length, creating a more playful and textured bob. Emma loved it!
