“I got in my truck and flew back to the store. I used the ticket checker and saw the prize was $350,000.”

Several people gathered at the store to see what was going on.

“I had the retailer check it and the ‘Big Winner’ message came up,” he said. “It was one heck of a rush. It hit me like a ton of bricks.”

Hopson said he plans to use the money to pay off bills and help his wife retire, who he said gave him a big hug when she found out he had won.

Instant Crossword Extreme tickets are $30 a play, with a top prize of $350,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.42.

The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire on Dougall Avenue.

In January, Windsor resident Kyanne Dailey took one of the top prizes in the OLG’s Instant Ultimate lottery draw, winning one million dollars.

Her Instant Ultimate ticket was purchased at Loblaws on Dougall Avenue for $100.

One of the biggest local wins came just under a year ago when Windsor resident Jay Jayasinghe collected $35-million in Lotto Max jackpot winnings.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Mac’s convenience story on Tecumseh Road.
