Hundreds of participants attended the traditional “Way of the Cross” procession on downtown streets Friday morning.
The celebrants were led by led by the Most Rev. Marcel Damphousse, Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall.

The program included songs in Latin, English, French, and Italian, and featured readings and reflections on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Over two-and-a-half hours, participants made five stops at some of Ottawa’s key religious and cultural locations, including St. Patrick’s Basilica, the Supreme Court, Parliament, the National Gallery of Canada.
The march concluded at at Notre Dame Cathedral.
