Ian Macdonald has made a habit of this. Macdonald notched his fourth career ace during a round at D’Arcy Ranch, draining a 140-yard dandy — a nifty nine-iron from 140 yards — on the signature third assignment.

Scot Knutson was the toast of the clubhouse at Carnmoney after making a splash of another sort on the island green at the sixth. Knutson knocked a nine-iron and was right on the money from 146 yards out.
Glen Barreth buried a beauty on the eighth hole at Douglasdale. Nine-iron was the right call for a 125-yard challenge.
Haesookoh Oh was one-and-done on No. 3 at Shaganappi Point, finding the flag-stick with a superb seven-iron that travelled 126 yards.
Troy Maryniak will be saying only good things about his nine-iron, his weapon of choice for a 140-yard memory-maker on No. 6 at Lakeside.
Scott Arnold skipped the putting portion on the seventh at Earl Grey, instead finishing his business with one strike of a seven-iron from a distance of 149 yards.
Also at Earl Grey, Stephen Park smoked a four-wood on No. 15 and then made the 190-yard commute to retrieve his ball from the bottom of the cup.
Mike Ochs and Adam Reid can swap stories after both aced the sixth hole at D’Arcy Ranch. Ochs was accurate with an eight-iron from 190 yards away, while Reid selected that same stick from 182.
Mike Ballem mastered the eighth hole at Maple Ridge thanks to a wicked wedge from the 125-yard blocks.
