In a separate case, this one May 11, police patrolling the area of 153 Avenue and 66 Street around 4:37 a.m. saw a vehicle speeding and stopped it near 93 Street and 151 Avenue. All three occupants fled on foot, with two quickly arrested by officers.

Investigators are still working to identify the third suspect who fled from police.

A loaded gun with loaded magazines was seized along with an unspecified quantity of drugs.

“This was some great work by our officers, taking guns off the street. This truly highlights the dangers that police face on a daily basis,” northeast division Staff Sgt. Susan Tames said of the separate gun seizures.

“What is also concerning is the complete disregard for three separate court ordered lifetime firearms bans against one of the male suspects who was found in possession of a loaded handgun.”
