MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police allege the teen was harassing the victim, who is also a youth, for months before his arrest.

The victim’s parents eventually filed a complaint against the suspect.
MRC police went to the 13-year-old’s home to make an arrest on April 14, but his parents were unco-operative. The officers left, but returned to the home on April 15 with a search warrant and arrested the boy.

Due to the severity of the charges, police said, the youth was held overnight before he appeared in youth court last Tuesday.
He was charged with criminal harassment, making threats to cause death or bodily harm, distribution of child pornography and unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted weapons.
He was released from custody with specific conditions, including a ban on using any social media directly or indirectly. He is also forbidden from using the internet and any other digital network without the supervision of an adult.
“When using social media and the internet, we all have responsibilities regarding what we publish online,” MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police said in a news release. “The possible consequence of this misuse can result in criminal charges, a conviction and, by force of circumstances, a criminal record.”
