Springtime in Edmonton has never been a balmy experience, per se, but this last week has been an unexpected blast of winter cold, and the next two days won’t be any different.

Friday’s forecast is one of a 30 per cent chance of flurries throughout the day, with 20 km/h winds and a wind chill of -13 that make a mockery of the -5 C high. The chance of flurries jumps up to 60 per cent during the overnight, with those same winds bringing the -9 C low down further to a wind chill of -17. Saturday will be much the same, a high of -3 C and 20 km/h winds with a wind chill of -8, all topped off with another 30 per cent chance of flurries.

Thankfully the pain will lessen from Sunday onward, with temperatures above zero again starting Monday.
