I was appalled and quite frankly embarrassed to see our mayor being booed for no reason at the Calgary Flames game Saturday. Whether you agree or disagree with her politically, Mayor Gondek did NOT deserve this shameful treatment. Kudos to her for handling that kind of disrespectful treatment with dignity and class. Something obviously unfamiliar to those that partook in this despicable and immature behaviour. Respect Joyti Gondek!

Are you surprised the mayor was boo’ed? I am not. That is my mayor keeps on raising taxes, spending millions beautifying 37 Street, adding bicycle paths, getting schools buildings, allowing more temples. I am surprised she hasn’t joined our PM and flown off somewhere.

Carbon tax isn’t the same
Again the majority of the media are trying to sensationalize the increase in gas prices by equating Alberta’s gas tax increase to the horrendous increase in the carbon tax imposed by our PM. By the way, the carbon tax increase is now called the carbon rebate increase. Hmmm? What folks seem to forget is that Alberta’s increase is a RETURN to prior tax levels that were suspended due to the high cost of living and is formula driven not politically driven.

It is quite obvious, Justin Trudeau knows very well that he and his Liberal government won’t be winning a fourth mandate in the next federal election. Therefore, what does Justin really have to lose? This might explain why he’s not listening to anyone with regards to his infamous carbon tax. Today, Justin Trudeau is like a runaway train barreling down the tracks, into a chasm. A nowhere man, as the Beatles once sang years ago.
