Bruni came to the Hitmen in 2017, serving as their video coach until 2020 before transitioning to the team’s scouting staff — as Alberta scout — for the past four seasons.

He has a chemical engineering degree and a law degree and is currently working as vice-president of global investment banking at RBC Capital Markets.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Hitmen in this capacity, as we continue to pursue a WHL title and a Memorial Cup championship,” Bruni said. “I would like to thank CSEC ownership, (president/CEO) John Bean and Mike Moore for giving me this tremendous opportunity.”

Bruni officially begins his position with the Hitmen on Aug. 1.

Next up for the Hitmen is the 2024 WHL U.S. Priority Draft and the 2024 WHL Prospects Draft, taking place May 8 and 9, respectively.
