The next season of Broadway Across Canada in Ottawa will feature shows about Tina Turner and Michael Jackson added to a series that already includes the previously announced blockbuster, Disney’s The Lion King.

Kicking off the 2024-25 season is the fall run of The Lion King, Oct. 24-Nov. 10, followed by MJ, the multiple Tony Award-winning new musical based on the making of Jackson’s 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Its Ottawa première is scheduled for Dec. 31, 2024-Jan 5, 2025.

Next up is Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, running Feb. 11-16, 2025, a show that traces the ultimate comeback of the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, set to a soundtrack of Turner’s biggest hits.

In May 2025, the musical Beetlejuice, based on Tim Burton’s cult-classic film, opens on May 27 and runs until June 1. Rounding out the season is a return appearance by Hamilton, the hip hop-laced story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton, set for Aug. 5-17, 2025.

All shows take place in Southam Hall at the National Arts Centre.
