“The teams are actively working to plan the relaunch of the routes. The vast majority of routes will be restored Monday morning and the school boards will notify parents if there are issues that persist with certain routes,” management said.

The union voted 69.4 per cent in favour of the deal, it said Thursday, ending a strike that began Oct. 31.

Some 15,000 students with the Montreal and Marguerite-Bourgeoys school service centres, as well as the English Montreal and Lester B. Pearson school boards and at Collège Ste-Anne, have been deprived of school transportation for four months.

According to the CSN union federation, the six-year employment contract, retroactive to July 1, 2022, will increase the weekly salary from $634 to $907 on July 1, 2027.

The minister of labour, Jean Boulet, had appointed two conciliators since the start of the conflict. He met with the two parties separately, on Feb. 23, to encourage them to find a settlement. He then reminded them that he could appoint an arbitrator to settle the dispute, if they agreed. But the union refused.
